알파-아밀라아제 2B는 인간에서 AMY2B 유전자에 의해 암호화된 효소다.^[5]^[6]

함수

아밀라아제는 1,4-알파-글루코사이드] 결합을 올리고당류와 다당류에서 가수분해하여 식이성 녹말과 글리코겐의 소화에 첫발을 내디딘 분비 단백질이다.인간 게놈은 침샘이나 췌장에서 높은 수준으로 발현되는 여러 아밀라아제 유전자의 군집을 가지고 있다.이 유전자는 췌장에 의해 생성된 아밀라아제 이소엔자임을 암호화한다.^[6]
