53 페르세이는 페르세우스 북쪽 별자리에 있는 단일[12] 변수 별이다.바이엘 명칭 d 페르세이가 있고, 53 페르세이가 플램스티드 명칭이다.이 별은 육안으로 보기에 4.80의 가시적 크기를 가진 희미한 청백색의 빛의 점으로 보인다.[2]시차로부터 결정되는 태양으로부터 약 480광년 떨어져 있으며, 방사상 속도 +7.3 km/s로 더 멀리 떠내려가고 있다.[6]

이 별은 B4IV의 별 분류를 가지고 있으며,[3] 천천히 맥동하는 B 별이라고 알려진 가변 별의 한 부류의 원형이었다.[14]그것은 북반구에서 최초로 연구된 B형 변광성들 중 하나였다.[5]이 별은 1차 기간인 2.36일의 비방사성 맥동을 겪는다.BRITE 인공위성으로 별을 관측한 결과 별의 광선곡선에서 8개의 개별 주파수가 나왔다.[5]
