토마스 리처드 니데스(Thomas Richard Nides, 1961년 출생)[1]는 2021년 12월부터 이스라엘 주재 미국대사를 맡고 있는 미국의 은행가 겸 정부 관료다. 2013년부터 2021년까지 모건스탠리 전무 겸 부회장을 맡아 회사 경영운영위원회 위원으로 활동했다. 앞서 니데스는 버락 오바마 행정부 시절인 2011년부터 2013년까지 미 국무부 관리자원부 차관으로 임명됐다. 그는 일생 동안 다양한 재정과 정부의 역할을 해 왔다.

어린 시절과 경력

토마스 리처드 니데스는 미네소타주 둘루트의 유대인 가정에서 태어났으며 셜리(네 가브론스키)와 아놀드 리처드 니데스의 아들이다.[2][3][4] 그는 8명의 아이들 중 막내다.[5] 그의 아버지는 국가 소비자 금융 회사인 니데스 파이낸스의 설립자였으며 템플 이스라엘과 둘루트 유대인 연합회의 회장이었다.[2]

사생활

1992년 버지니아 카펜터 모슬리와 결혼하여 에큐메니컬한 의식을 치렀다. Nides와 Moseley는 아들과 딸 두 아이의 부모다. 모슬리는 CNN의 미국 방송의 뉴스 수집 담당 수석 부사장이다.[32]
