센스타임(Sense Time)은 홍콩에 본사를 둔 부분적으로 국유화된 상장 인공지능 회사입니다. 회사는 얼굴 인식, 이미지 인식, 물체 감지, 광학 문자 인식, 의료 이미지 분석, 비디오 분석, 자율 주행 및 원격 감지를 포함한 기술을 개발합니다.[2] 센스타임은 2019년부터 안면인식 기술이 위구르족을 비롯한 소수민족과 종교인들의 감시와 수용에 투입됐다는 의혹으로 미국 정부로부터 거듭 제재를 받았습니다.[3][4][5] 센스타임은 혐의를 부인하고 있습니다.[6]
중국 사이버공간국 산하 국유기업인 중국인터넷투자펀드가 센스타임의 황금주 지분을 보유하고 있습니다.[7]
역사
2014
SenseTime은 2014년 10월 홍콩 중문대학교 정보공학과의 Tang Xiao'ou 교수와 컴퓨터 과학자 Xu Li 등에 의해 공동 설립되었습니다.[8]
2015
2015년에는 SenseTime의 논문 중 9편이 CVPR(Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition)에 채택되었습니다.[9]
2016
2016년에는 SenseTime의 논문 중 16편이 CVPR 컨퍼런스에 접수되었으며, 한 해 동안의 ImageNet 대회에서 객체 검출, 비디오 객체 검출, 장면 분석 부문에서 1위를 차지했습니다.[10][11]

2023년 2월, 센스타임은 홍콩 대표단의 사우디아라비아 방문 정부에 초청되었습니다. 센스타임은 이번 여행에서 킹 압둘라 금융지구, 사우디아라비아의 문화관광 이벤트 매니지먼트 회사인 셀라와 스마트시티, 디지털 관광 등의 분야에서 협력을 심화하기 위한 MOU를 교환했습니다.[49] 2023년 12월, 설립자 탕샤오우의 예상치 못한 사망으로 센스타임의 주가는 18% 하락했습니다.[50]
