리처드 리폴드(Richard Lipold, 1915년 5월 3일 ~ 2002년 8월 22일)는 철사를 매개로 한 기하학적 구조로 유명한 미국의 조각가였다.

인생

리폴드는 위스콘신 주 밀워키에서 태어났다. 그는 시카고 대학에서 공부했고, 1937년 시카고 예술학교 산업디자인과를 졸업했다.[1] 리폴드는 1937년부터 1941년까지 산업디자이너로 일했다. 조각가가 된 후, 리폴드는 1952년부터 1967년까지 뉴욕 시립대학의 헌터 칼리지 등 여러 대학에서 가르쳤다.

리폴드의 바닥부터 천장까지 조각한 '트리니티'를 묘사할 때 미국의 예술가 하워드 뉴먼은 이렇게 말했다.

The work entitled a homage to North is an 88-foot-Long, glittering creation of intersecting strands of Gold and aluminium wire and prism shaped rods of stainless steel. Designed for the main Headquarters lobby of a cab in Charlotte the sculpture has been on exhibit there since the fall of 1970. Lippold known internationally for his work in wire and Metal assembled the Complex work Over a four month period employing a two Story scaffolding. He will remove the sculpture Early next year and a cab will store it until new facilities of the state museum Are ready to receive it. The sculpture is presently valued at about $100,000.
