2000년에 설립된 OnMobile은 인도[6] 뱅갈로르에 본사를 두고 있으며 전 세계 99개 고객에게 서비스를 제공하고 있다.[7] 온모바일은 뭄바이, 델리, 방글라데시, 스페인, 두바이, 나이로비, 스웨덴, 남아프리카에도 사무실을 두고 있다.

인포시스의 자회사로서 원래 온스캔 테크놀로지스 인디아 프라이빗 리미티드라는 이름으로 캘리포니아에 법인화된 이 회사는 인도로 이전했다.[8][9][10] 2001년 4월 OnMobile Asia Pacific Private Limited로 이름을 변경하였고, 마침내 2007년 8월 현재의 이름으로 변경하였다.[10] 온모바일은 2008년 2월 19일 봄베이 증권거래소와 인도 국가증권거래소에 상장되면서 인도 통신 VAS 기업으로는 처음으로 상장됐다.[11]

2017년 2월 23일 프랑수아 샤를르 시로이스가 신임 회장 겸 CEO로 선임되었다.[12][13][14] 그는 집행위원장직을 계속 유지하다가[15] 2020년 8월 2일 CEO직을 사임했고, 2020년 8월 3일 크리슈 세샤드리가 신임 최고 경영자로 선임됐다.[16]

ITFinity

2006년 12월 온모바일은 모바일 소프트웨어 회사인 ITFinity를 1000만~2000만 달러에 인수한다고 발표했다.[17]

텔리스마

온모바일은 프랑스 음성 인식 회사인 텔리스마 S.A.를 인수하는 데 1200만 유로를 지불했다.[18] 텔리스마는 힌디, 벵갈리, 타밀, 구자라티, 푼자비, 칸나다, 텔루구, 말라얄람, 마라티, 영어 등 10개 인도어로 음성인식 기술을 보유하고 있다.[19] 이전에 OnMobile은 15개의 다른 언어를 지원하는 Nuance Communications의 음성 인식을 사용했었다.[20]

딜리튬 네트워크

온모바일은 2010년 10월 3G 영상기술 개발사인 딜리튬네트웍스를 미공개 금액에 인수했다.[21]

라이브와이어 모바일

2013년 6월 온모바일은 인포테인먼트 업체인 벨소리, 벨소리, 벨소리, 벨소리인 라이브와이어 모바일을 1780만달러에 인수했다.[22]

앱랜드 AB

2018년 10월 온모바일글로벌리미티드(OnMobile Global Limited)는 세계 게임 및 키즈 앱클럽 가입 서비스 중 하나인 앱랜드 AB를 인수했다.[23][24]

2020년 5월 온모바일글로벌리미티드(OnMobile Global Limited)[25]는 인공지능(AI) 기반 영상유지 리더 롭0의 지분 25%를 인수했다.
