Mitofusin-1은 인간에서 MFN1 유전자에 ^[5]^[6]^[7]의해 암호화되는 단백질이다.

이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 미토콘드리아 융합의 매개체이다.이 단백질과 미토푸신 2는 드로소필라 단백질 퍼지 양파(Fzo)의 상동체이다.그들은 미토콘드리아 ^[7]표적을 용이하게 하기 위해 서로 상호작용하는 미토콘드리아 막 단백질이다.
