Kinesin 유사 단백질 KIF2C는 인간에서 KIF2C 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질이다.[5][6]
이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 키네신 유사 단백질 계열의 일원이다. 이 계열의 대부분의 단백질은 세포 내에서 오르간젤을 운반하고 세포분열 시 염색체를 움직이는 미세관 의존형 분자모터다. 이 단백질은 세포의 미세관 역학을 조절하는 작용을 하며, 아나파제 염색체 분리에 중요하며 자매 중심 분리의 시작을 조정하는데 필요할 수 있다.[6]
