가하라는 인도와 파키스탄에서 만들어진 토기 냄비다. 식수를 보관하고 시원하게 유지하는 데 쓰인다.[1][2]

ghara라는 단어는 Pahari, Bengali[3], Odia 언어로 인식되고 있는데, 모두 항아리를 뜻하는 산스크리트어 ghaṭa로 추적할 수 있다.[4] 힌디어로 철자를 쓴다: घडाा,[5] 네팔어로: घडाा gा g g g,[6] 우르두어로: ھڑاا;;, 펀자비어로: ਘਡ਼ਾ.[8]

ghara라는 단어는 또한 ghara처럼 생겼기 때문에 성숙한 수컷 gharials (Gavialis gangeticus)의 코에 있는 텅 빈 구근의 돌출부에도 사용된다. 이 돌기는 75m(246ft) 떨어진 곳에서 들을 수 있는 쉿하는 소리를 낼 수 있게 해준다.[9]
