3'-5'의 터무니없는 효소 CSL4 호몰로겐은 인간에서 EXOSC1 유전자에 의해 암호화되는 효소다.[5][6][7]
이 유전자는 엑소솜 콤플렉스의 핵심 성분을 암호화한다.포유류 엑소솜은 AU가 풍부한 원소 함유 RNA의 빠른 저하를 위해 필요하지만 폴리(A) 단축에는 필요하지 않다.이 단백질과 엑소좀과의 연관성은 리보솜 RNA 처리 단백질 42와 리보솜 RNA 처리 단백질 46과의 단백질-단백 상호작용에 의해 매개된다.[7]
