자동 잠금 장치(또는 자동 잠금 장치 또는 "세 번째 손")는 래프팅(아래쪽)과 상승(위쪽)을 모두 위해 등산과 케이싱에 사용되는 로프 장치다.[1][2]

래핑을 하다가 손에 의해 아래로 밀리면 밧줄 아래로 자유자재로 미끄러져 내려오지만, 갑자기 떨어지거나 제어가 끊어질 경우 걸림돌이 돼 내리막을 막는다.이는 어바일러가 로프의 제어력을 상실하는 사고가 발생했을 때 제어되지 않은 추락이 방지되는 것이다.[3]오름차순의 경우, 마찬가지로 무게가 실리지 않을 때는 로프를 수동으로 위로 밀 수 있지만, 체중이 실릴 때는 잼을 들고 버틸 수 있다.
