2017년 6월 20일 사우스캐롤라이나주 5대 국회의원 선거의 미국 하원의원을 선출하기 위한 특별 선거가 실시되었다.믹 멀베이니 의원은 도널드 트럼프 대통령에 의해 경영예산국장으로 지명되고 2017년 2월 16일 미 상원에서 [1][2]인준을 받아 하원의원직에서 물러났다.
랄프 노먼 주 하원의원은 낮은 투표율에서 51.0% 대 47.9%로 아치 파넬 골드만삭스 상임고문을 근소한 차이로 눌렀다.
