신할라는 스리랑카의 신할라어와 팔리어의 문자가 포함된 유니코드 블록으로 스리랑카에서 산스크리트어를 쓰는 데도 쓰인다. 신할라 할당은 ISCII 표준에 느슨하게 기초하고 있으나, 신할라에는 태음 자음 문자가 추가로 포함되어 있어 다른 ISCII-유니코드 스크립트 할당과 불일치하는 결과를 초래한다.
