이 단체의 직원들에는 래리 코언 회장과 니나 터너 사장이 포함되어 있는데,[14][15][16] 이들은 모두 버니 샌더스 대통령 선거캠프의 전국적인 공동대표이기도 하다.[17] 샌더스 선거캠프의 라틴계 언론담당 비서인 에리카 안디올라 씨가 이 기구의 통신요원에 합류했다.[18] 우리 혁명의 501(c)(4) 지정은 샌더스가 선출직 공무원이기 때문에 조직에서 역할을 할 수 없게 한다.[1]

2016년 8월 29일, 우리 혁명 이사회는 다음과 같이 발표되었다.

2016년 선거

우리는 대통령 당선자가 미국인들이 매일 직면하고 있는 전투를 무시할 수 없도록 하기 위해 우리의 힘 닿는 데까지 최선을 다할 것이다. 우리의 일은 진정한 대안 비전을 제시하고 지역적, 국가적 차원에서 참여하여 분단국가를 맞아 정치혁명의 일을 이어가는 것이다.

샌더스 대변인은 "트럼프 대통령이 이 나라의 중산층과 서민들을 위해 일할 수 있는 문제에 대해 함께 일할 생각"이라고 밝혔다. 그가 선거 운동 중에 제기했던 인종차별이나 성차별이나 그 밖의 차별적 조치에 호소한다면 나는 강력하게 반대할 것이라고 말했다.[28]

래리 코언 회장은 포퓰리즘 정서를 인용하며 다가오는 선거에서 정치경제 엘리트주의자들이 역풍을 맞을 수 있다고 경고했다.[29]

2016년 이후 정치 활동

2017년 1월, 우리 혁명 활동가들은 샌더스의 의제를 진전시키기 위해 캘리포니아의 지방선거에서 일했다. 섀넌 잭슨 전무이사에 따르면, 우리 혁명은 "주 주변에서 이런 일을 계속 할 것"[30]이라고 한다.

유튜브의 진보적인 미국 뉴스·해설 프로그램인 '젊은 터키인'은 5월 21일 방송에서 폴리티코 기사를 거론하며 "공격 작품"[34]이라고 했다. Cenk Uygur는 이 단체가 "많은 샌더스 지지자들에게 환멸을 느끼게 했다"고 주장하는 것과 "샌더스의 2020년 조직 능력에 대한 의구심을 부채질했다"고 주장하는 등 자신들의 주장에 강력히 반대하며 정확성을 부인했다.[33][34]
