포도당-6-인산효소, 촉매 서브단위(글루코스 6-인산효소 알파)는 인간에서 G6PC 유전자에 의해 암호화된 효소다.[5][6]

포도당-6-인산효소는 D-글루코스 6-인산염의 가수분해를 D-글루코스 및 정형인산염으로 촉진하는 내포체성 망막 단백질이다.그것은 글루코네제네시스, 글리코겐톨리시스 등에서 기능하는 포도당 동종요소의 핵심 효소다.효소의 결함은 글리코겐 저장성 질환 타입 I(von Gierke병)을 유발한다.[6]
