재무장관([vit̪vits̪ ss sc]])은 재무부의 행정실장이다. 이 직책은 인도정부 장관급의 IAS 고위 임원이 맡고 있다. T. V. 소마나단은 현직 재무장관이다.[1][2][3]
인도 정부 장관으로서 재무장관은 인도 우선 순위 23위에 올라 있다.[4][5][6][7]
권한, 책임 및 게시물
재무장관은 재무부의 행정실장이며, 재경부 내에서 정책 및 행정의 모든 문제에 대해 재무장관의 주 고문을 맡고 있다.[8] 재경부 5개 부처 장관 중 가장 많은 비서관이 viz이다. 재정경제부 세출투자공공자산운용은 재경부 장관으로 내정됐다.[9]
재무장관의 역할은 다음과 같다.
- 재무부의 행정수반 역할을 한다. 이 점에 관한 책임은 완전하고 미분양이다.[10]
- 정책 및 행정업무의 모든 측면에서 재무장관의 수석고문 역할을 한다.[10]
- 인도 의회 공출위원회에 앞서 재무부를 대표한다.[10]
- 재경부 비서관들 중 동급자 중 1인자 역할을 하는 것.

재무장관은 외교여권을 받을 자격이 있다. 연방 재무장관의 공식 거주지는 뉴델리 뉴 모티 바그 5형식, VIII 방갈로다.
재무장관은 인도 정부장관급이어서 급여는 국무조정실장과 육군참모차장·명령장급에[11] 상당하며, 인도군 중장과 이에 준하는 계급이다.[11]
