Final Frontiner Design은 우주복을 제작하고 테스트하는 시드 스테이지 스타트업 기업이다.[1]이 회사의 제품은 스페이스X, 버진 갤럭틱, XCOR 에어로스페이스와 같은 뉴 스페이스 론칭 회사들에 의해 대표되는 보다 최근의 저비용 우주공간 접근을 가능하게 하고 가능하게 한다.[2]

FFD는 2011년 1단계 SBIR을 수상했으며, 이 계약에 따라 압력 의류 장갑 기술을 개발했다.

2011년 7월, 스페이스 프런티어 재단이 후원한 2011년 실리콘밸리에서 열린 뉴 스페이스 비즈니스 플랜 경진대회에서 파이널 프런티어 디자인이 3위를 차지했다.[1]

Final Frontiner Design은 "성장하는 상업적 우주비행 산업을 위해 저렴하지만 성능이 뛰어난 우주복을 제작할 수 있도록" 목적으로 2010년 전직 아이빔 거주자인 "예술가 겸 디자이너"[4] 테드 서던과 그의 파트너인 "러시아 기계 엔지니어" 니콜라이 모이세프가 설립했다.[5]

차량 내 활동복

Final Frontiner는 우주선 내부 우주복이라고 불리는 저가의 상업용 우주복을 개발하고 있으며, 비상시 가압할 수 있는 IVA라고 불리는 우주선 내부 우주복을 개발하고 있으며, NASA의 기존 IVA 슈트 라인의 약 5분의 1 가격에 각각 25만 달러 정도의 가격으로 이 슈트를 판매할 계획이다.이 우주복의 무게는 15파운드(6.8kg) 미만으로, NASA 우주복과는 30파운드 미만으로, 다수의 우주비행사와 함께 비행하는 데 드는 연료비를 경제적으로 상당히 절감할 수 있을 것이다.[6]최종 프론티어 디자인은 NASA 비행 인증 기준에 따라 3세대 우주복을 제작하고 있다.2세대 우주복에 비해 개선된 것은 더 큰 작동 압력, 탄소 섬유 허리 고리, 수축형 헬멧, 개선된 장갑과 장갑의 연결 해제 등이다.[7]이 두 사람은 2012년 6월 킥스타터로 가서 우주선 안에서 일어나는 활동을 의미하는 차량 내 여행용 상업 우주복의 시제품 제작과 건설을 위한 기금을 모았다.Final Frontiner는 2012년 7월 386 후원자들로부터 2만 7천 달러 이상을 벌어들여 모금 목표액 2만 달러를 초과했다.킥스타터 프로젝트의 목표는 2013년까지 항공 인증을 위해 NASA에 제출할 3세대 슈트를 준비하는 것이다.[8]
