Fétes Vénitiennes는 현재 에든버러의 스코틀랜드 국립 미술관에 있는 Antoine Watteau의 그림으로, 1861년 존 머레이 경의 미망인인 헨더랜드의 레이디 머레이가 그린 그림이다.로랑 카스의 작품 1732년 판화에서 제목을 따왔으며, 작품에서 보여지는 베네치아 스타일의 드레스와 춤에서 유래되었는데, 전자는 콤미디어 델라르트에서 영감을 받았다.[1]와트타우가 창작한 페테스 갈란테스 장르에 속한다.[2]
중앙의 메인 댄서는 두크 오를레앙의 정부인 코메디 프랑사이스 여배우 샬롯 데스마레스라고 생각되었고, 일부는 검은 모자를 쓴 댄서를 왓테우의 친구인 플랑드르 화가 니콜라스 벨류겔스라고 밝힌다.이 두 무용수는 미뉴에트를 추는 모습을 보여주는데, 그 배경에는 다른 인물들이 앉아 있다.여기에는 한 여성에게 구애하는 남자, 한 배우와 이야기를 나누는 두 여자, 백파이프를 들고 있는 음악가로서의 화가의 추정 자화상이 포함된다. 이 자화상들은 중세 이래 히에로니무스 보쉬의 <지구적 기쁨의 정원>에서와 같은 성적 상징성을 지니고 있었다.이 착석한 무리 뒤에는 두 사람이 더 있고 분수대가 하나 더 있다.[3]
설명
그림의 중심을 차지하고 있는 주 무용수는 1702년 사생아 앙제리크 드 프루시(Angélique de Froissy)가 함께 가졌던 올리언스 공작의 연인이었던 여배우 크리스틴 샤를롯 데스마레스(Christine Charlotte Desmasmas)가 될 것이다.
그녀가 마주보고 있는 검은 모자를 쓴 무용수는 로마 아카데미 감독(1725–36)에 오른 니콜라스 벨루겔스, 플랑드르 화가, 친구이자 왓테우의 소유주로 밝혀졌다.그의 옷은 유머러스해 보이고 아마도 판화사 로랑 카스가 배포한 제목을 설명하는 이탈리아 코미디언들에게서 영감을 받은 것 같다.
