스코틀랜드 게일릭의 두아트 성(Caisteal Dubhairt) 또는 카이스트알 뒤브헤어트는 스코틀랜드 서쪽 해안에서 들리는 물소리 옆에 있는 아길과 부트의 의회 지역 내에 있는 성이다. 이 성은 13세기로 거슬러 올라가며 클랜 매클린의 소재지다.[1] 한 소식통은 이 성이 "1911년 폐허에서 다시 발견된 것"[2]이라고 말한다.

역사

두아르트 성은 아마도 13세기에 클랜 맥두걸에 의해 건설되었을 것이며, 다음 세기에 클랜 맥클린의 손에 들어온 것으로 보인다.[3]

1350년 제5대 클랜 추장 두아트의 라클란 루바나흐 맥린은 이즐레이의 존의 딸 메리와 결혼하여 섬과 두아트가 지참금의 일부였다.[4]

1647년 두아르트 성은 클랜 캠벨의 아르기엘 정부군에 의해 공격당하고 포위되었으나, 그들은 클랜 매클린의 왕립주의 군대에 의해 패배하고 쫓겨났다.

In 1678, Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll, son of the Marquess of Argyll, successfully invaded the Clan MacLean lands on the Isle of Mull and Sir John Maclean, 4th Baronet fled the castle and withdrew to Cairnbulg Castle, and afterward to Kintail under the protection of the Earl of Seaforth.[6]

2014년 복원

등대
