YP(약칭: YP)는 싱가포르의 집권당인 인민행동당(PAP)의 청년 조직으로, PAP를 지지하고 정치에 관심이 있는 싱가포르의 젊은이들과 학생들을 위한 청년 조직 역할을 하고 있다.[9]청년회장은 자일푸트후체리(Janil Puthucherary)이다.[10][11][12]
개요
YP의 전신인 PAP 청년위원회는 1986년 당시 싱가포르 국군의 준장이었던 리셴룽(李si龍)의 위원장 아래 설치되었다.35세 이하의 모든 PAP 위원들은 청소년 위원회 산하에 그룹화되었다.1993년에 청소년 위원회는 영 PAP로 이름이 바뀌었다.당시 위원들을 끌어모으기 위한 노력의 일환으로 조지 여 위원장은 YP에 가입하는 사람들은 중앙당 지도부와 다른 입장을 취할 수 있다고 말했다.나이 제한이 35세에서 40세로 상향 조정되었다.[13]회원권은 싱가포르 각 선거구 산하 PAP 지부를 통해 발급된다.[14]2010년 당시 Zaqy Mohamad 부회장은 YP가 2009년 1000명보다 늘어난 1200명 이상의 신규 회원을 유치했다고 말했다.[15]

활동.
영 PAP의 자원봉사자들은 그들의 지역구에서 소속된 풀뿌리 단체들과 함께 지역사회를 한다.이들은 또 선거 운동 기간 중 가택 방문과 후속 조치도 실시한다.[18]영 PAP는 또한 1995년 이후 몇몇 온라인 웹사이트를 담당하여 당시 정보 예술부 장관이었던 조지 여씨의 권유로 온라인 파티의 입지를 다지고 있다.[19]젊은 PAP 활동가들은 사이버 공간에서 당과 정부에 대한 비판에 대응하기 위해 공개적이고 익명으로 활동하기 위해 팀을 구성한 것으로 알려져 있다.[20][21][9]2001년 인기 포럼인 신터콤이 폐쇄된 후, 영 PAP는 온건한 논의를 위해 그들만의 포럼을 제안했다.[22]그들은 그 후 대중을 참여시키기 위해 멀티미디어 콘텐츠가 있는 다양한 블로그와 소셜 미디어 계정을 개설했다.[23][24][25]
