Urban–rural political divide

정치학에서 도시와 농촌의 정치적 격차는 한 나라 내 도시와 농촌이 정치적 견해를 첨예하게 엇갈리는 현상이다. 정치적 양극화의 한 형태다. 전형적으로, 도시 지역은 더 자유주의, 좌파, 국제주의, 그리고/또는 다문화주의적인 정치적 태도를 보이는 반면, 시골 지역은 더 보수적이고, 우파적이고, 우파적인 포퓰리즘적인 그리고/또는 민족주의적인 정치적 태도를 보인다.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

미국,[1][2][3][4] 영국,[5][6] 프랑스,[7] 헝가리,[3] 폴란드,[3] 벨기에,[7] 이탈리아,[7] 네덜란드,[8] 터키,[3] 태국,[3] 필리핀을 포함한 많은 나라에서 도시와 농촌의 정치적 분열이 세계적으로 관찰되었다.[3] 도시와 농촌 사이의 정치적 분열은 정치학자와 언론인에 의해 21세기에, 특히 대공황 이후 더욱 심화된 것으로 지적되어 왔다.[7] 유럽에서는 도시와 농촌의 양극화가 심화되면서 중도좌파 정당의 쇠퇴와 함께 파소키화(Pasokization)라는 추세가 나타나고 있다.
