Sorbonne Paris North University (Université Sorbonne Paris Nord) is one of the universities that succeeded the Sorbonne after the breakup of the University of Paris into thirteen autonomous universities in 1968, it is a multidisciplinary university located north of Paris, in the municipalities from Villetaneuse, Saint-Denis, La Plaine Saint-Denis, Bobigny and d'Argenteuil.

Successively named “Université Paris XIII”, “Université Paris-Nord”, “Université Paris 13 Paris Nord”, then “Université Paris 13” (name adopted in 2014), it has known several names during this half century. Most recently it was renamed "Université Sorbonne Paris North" on January 1, 2020.

The University Sorbonne Paris Nord is a major teaching and research center located north of Paris. It has five campuses, spread over the two departments of Seine-Saint-Denis and Val d'Oise: Villetaneuse, Bobigny, Saint-Denis, the Plaine Saint-Denis and Argenteuil.

The university has more than 25,000 students in initial or continuing training, in many fields: Health, Medicine and Human Biology - Letters, Languages, Humanities and Societies - Law, Political and social sciences - Communication sciences - Economics and management.

파리-13대학은 1960년대 초 파리 아카데미(Academy of Paris)의 렉터가 빌레타네우스에 제3의 과학학부를 개설하고 싶다는 열망에 따라 만들어졌다. 1969년 9월 파리대학의 과학기반 대학센터 생데니스(Saint-Denis – Villetaneus)에서도 교수진 지위를 가진 생데니스(Saint-Denis)가 설립되었다.

1970년 법파우레 개혁이 적용되면서 13개 자율 다학제 대학을 만들기로 결정되어 파리대학의 교수진을 대체하게 되었고, 빌레타네우스의 교수진은 파리 13세 대학이 되었다.

이 새로운 대학은 건축가 파인실버와 앤스파크가 빌레타네우스의 마을 개보수 작업의 일환으로 설계했다. 첫 번째 단계는 약 5000명의 학생을 받을 것으로 예상되는 문예회관 건립이었다. 1970년 10월에 완공된 제1관에서는 1500년 12월에 법학과 경제학과 인문학과 1학년에 처음 1500명의 학생이 입학할 수 있었다. 1972년 파리 X대학III는 생데니스 대학 센터 도서관과 빌레타네우스 대학 센터 도서관 두 개의 도서관을 준공하였다.

파리대학의 해체에 이어 파리의 대학 총장이 설립의 건물과 토지를 소유하고 있다. 크레틸 대학의 찬세리는 예산 통제와 합법성 대학을 제공한다.

대학명

1970년 12월 17일, 대학의 공공, 과학, 문화 특성에 관한 법령 제70호-1174호는 그 대학에 파리-X라는 이름을 붙였다.III. 설립 이후 비공식적으로 "파리-13노스 대학교" 또는 "파리-노르드 대학교"로 불렸다.

2014년 5월 16일, 이사회는 대학 이름을 다음과 같이 바꾸기로 결정했다. 대학의 자유 및 책임에 관한 법률을 준수하는 파리-13대학(법령에서는 파리 13대학)^[1]

2019년 파리 대학 제도 개편에서 대학은 '유니버설 소르본느 파리 노르드'로 스타일링에 나서겠다고 밝혔다.

빌레타네우스

Bobigny

The Bobigny campus is dedicated to medicine, health and human biology, and has the UFR SMBH and the IUT of Bobigny. The campus is side of the Avicenna hospital with which the university is in agreement to form the Avicenna University Hospital, main training center in medicine department of Seine-Saint-Denis. The campus also host several research units related to medicine (mostly joint research units with the INSERM) and the UFR SMBH but also some units or humanities teams whose research theme is related to medicine (LEPS for therapeutic patient education, or UTRPP for psychopathology). This is the second university campus.

Saint-Denis

The campus at Saint-Denis houses the Technology university institute (Institut universitaire de technologie or IUT in French).

Academics

The university offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in line with the Bologna Process. Bachelor and Masters courses are organized into various schools.^[6]

• Ecole doctorale médicament, toxicologie, chimie, imageries (MTCI) for medicine, toxicology, chemistry and graphics, run with Paris Descartes University within the framework of the Sorbonne Paris Cité federation.^[8]
