시 번역센터(PTC)는 아프리카, 아시아, 중남미의 시를 번역하는 데 헌신하는 단체다.그것은 보증과 등록된 자선단체로 제한된 회사다.[1]2004년 영국 시인 사라 맥과이어에 의해 설립되었다.[2]이 작품은 닉 레어드 같은 영국 시인들이 후원해왔으며 영국 예술위원회의 정기적으로 후원하는 단체 중 하나이다.[3]
PTC의 웹사이트는 현재 암하릭에서 사포텍까지 19개 언어로 쓰여진 21개국 100여 명의 시인들의 521편의 시를 번역한 것을 포함하고 있다.[4]이 시들은 원어로, 기본 "문학" 번역본으로, 그리고 영어로 된 최종본으로 세 가지 버전으로 주어지기 때문에 번역 과정에 대한 귀중한 통찰력을 준다.이 사이트에는 영어, 아랍어, 쿠르드어, 포르투갈어, 소말리아어, 타지크어, 우르두어로 읽는 시의 녹음과 함께 읽는 영상과 팟캐스트도 함께 등장한다.
PTC는 몇 개의 세계시인투어를 조직했다.The first, in 2005, introduced Partaw Naderi (Afghanistan), Gagan Gill (India), Toeti Heraty (Indonesia), Coral Bracho (Mexico), Maxamed Xaashi Dhamac "Gaariye" (Somaliland) and Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi (Sudan) to UK audiences.In 2008, Corsino Fortes (Cape Verde), Gaariye, Al-Saddiq and Farzaneh Khojandi (Tajikistan) took part in the Centre's second World Poets' Tour, which also featured the poetry of Kajal Ahmad (Kurdistan) and Noshi Gillani (Pakistan), who were unable to travel to the UK.2017년 컬렉션 The Sea-Migrations: 아샤 룰 모하무드 유수프가 쓴 타흐리브는 선데이타임즈가 선정한 올해의 최고의 시집으로 선정되었다.[5]클레어 폴라드가 맥샘드 사산 '알토'와 사이드 자마 후세인과 함께 소말리아어로 번역했으며, 블러드악세 북스가 출간했다.2018년 그루지야 시인 살로메 베니체와 다이애나 안피미마디는 영국을 순회했다.[6]
British poets who have contributed translations include Maura Dooley, Carole Satyamurti, Choman Hardi, David Harsent, Jane Duran, Jo Shapcott, Katherine Pierpoint, Lavinia Greenlaw, Mark Ford, Mimi Khalvati, Sarah Maguire, Sean O'Brien and W. N. Herbert.
