날지 못하는 Geranoididae 새는 북 아메리카에서 가장Eocene 기간 동안 살았던 Palaeophasianus는 멸종된 유인원 속이다. 그는 1913년에 묘사했다 로버트 윌슨. 슈펠트는 galliform로 Palaeophasianus을 분류했다.[1] 조엘이 Cracraft 1968년에 두루 미목에 그것을 하지만 봉관조과 1964년 피어스 Brodkorb,[2] 의해 옮겨지었다.[3][4]
