†Paracathartes howardae

멸종한 새의 하부 에오세 와이오밍, 미국. 한종, Paracathartes howardae 묘사되어 왔다의Wasachtian 수평선에서 Paracathartes은 유인원 속이다.

그것은paleognathous 새, 신장, 크기에turkey-like, 아마도 꽤 자세히 tinamou을 닮았다.

Paracathartes 해리슨이 가장 오래된 것으로 알려진 cathartid 독수리로 묘사되었다.[2] 리치 이번 과제를 비판했다.[3] Houde(1988년)주문 Lithornithiformes과 가족 Lithornithidae의 일원으로 있다.[4]
