NGC 5026은 센타우루스자리에 있는 막대 나선 은하 또는 렌즈콩 은하다.[2]1834년 6월 5일 존 허셜에 의해 발견되었다.[5]그것은 뉴 제너럴 카탈로그의 편집자인 존 루이스 에밀 드레이어에 의해 "아주 밝고, 꽤 크고, 둥글고, 점점 더 밝은 가운데"로 묘사되었다.[5]
