2 센타우루스(Centauri)는 지구에서 약 183광년 떨어진 곳에 위치한 센타우루스(Centaurus)의 남쪽 별자리에 있는 단일[13] 별이다.[3]바이엘 명칭은 g Centauri이고,[12] 2 Centauri는 Flamsteed 명칭이다.이 물체는 육안으로 볼 때 가시적 크기가 4.19인 희미한 붉은 후두 별처럼 보인다.[4]그것은 지구로부터 +41 km/s의 태양 중심 방사상 속도로 이동하고 있다.[8]이 별은 HD 1614 슈퍼클러스터의 일원이다.[14]
