NGC 4065는 코마테 베레니스 별자리에서 3억 광년 떨어진[2] 곳에 위치한 타원 은하다.[3]이 은하는 1785년 4월 27일 천문학자 윌리엄 허셜에 의해 발견되었다.그 후 1832년 4월 29일 존 허셜에 의해 재발견되어 NGC 4057로 등재되었다.[4]NGC 4065는 NGC 4065 그룹의 가장 밝은[5][6][7][8] 구성원이다.[5][9][10][6][11][12][13][7][14][15]

NGC 4065는 NGC 4061의 동반자다.[10][16]두 은하는 광학 이소포트의 왜곡으로 증명되듯이 상호[16][6] 작용하는 쌍을 이룬다.[6][11]
