카파 아래(κ ara, κ arae)는 아라의 남쪽 별자리에 있는 단일[8] 별의 바이엘 명칭이다.시차 측정에 기초하여, 지구로부터 약 460광년(140파섹) 떨어져 있으며, 30광년의 오차 한계를 주거나 가진다.[1]겉으로 보이는 시각적 크기가 5.21인 이 별은 육안으로 희미하게 보인다.[2]
이 별은 G8 III의 별 분류를 가진 거대한 별이다.[3] 그것의 바깥쪽 봉투는 태양의 약 14배 반경으로 확장되었다.[6]그것은 4,950 K의 유효 온도로 우주로 에너지를 방출하고 있다.[5]이는 G형 별의 황금빛으로 빛날 만큼 뜨겁다.[9]
그것은 25와 30 아크의 각진 거리에 있는 14번째 크기의 광학 동반자 두 명을 가지고 있다.[citation needed]
