이발소 연대기

바버숍 크로니클스는 첼시와 바르셀로나의 축구 경기를 배경으로 하루 동안 6개 도시의 흑인 이발소를 배경으로 한 연극이다. 이 연극은 영국의 아프리카 디아스포라,[10] 남성성, 동성애, 종교를 탐구한다. 연극은 국립극장, 연료극장, 리즈 플레이하우스가 제작했으며, 2017년 알프레드 페이곤상 후보에 올랐다.[11] 투어 기간에 이어 2019년에는 라운드하우스에서도 연극이 공연되었고,[12] 2020년 5월에는 홈에서 국립극장 시즌의 일환으로 국립극장 제작 녹화가 스트리밍되었다.[13] 이 작품을 위해 엘람스는 아프리카 전역의 이발소와 클라팜 접점에 있는 그의 이발사 피터스 숍에서 60시간의 '남성 농담'[14]을 녹음했다.[14] 이 프로젝트는 원래 자금을 확보하지 못했다.[15]

2019년 4월 그의 새 연극 '강우의 반신'이 런던 가마극장에서 상영되기 전에 미리 버밍엄 레퍼토리 극장에서 상연되었고, [16]책으로도 출간되었다.[17]

세 자매

2019년 12월~2020년 2월 런던 로열 국립극장에서 체호프의 연극 '세 자매'의 재공연이 펼쳐졌다.[18] 이 연극은 나이지리아의 비아프란 전쟁이 한창이던 1960년대 이야기를 다시 풀어냈다.[19]

이민자와 함께 하는 저녁

2020년에 엘람스는 그의 어린 시절과 난민으로서의 경험에 대한 일화를 담은 라이브 무대 프로그램을 공연했다. 2020년 5월 24일 헤이 페스티벌에서 발췌문이 상영되었다.[7]
