가우초 문화 또는 가우초 문화는 지식, 예술, 도구, 음식, 전통과 풍습의 집합체로서, '메스티조'를 의미한다.

지리적으로 18세기와 19세기에 아르헨티나의 영토의 상당 부분을 차지하고 [3]있는 남아메리카의 한 지역과 브라질 남부의 리오 그란데 도 술 주에 의해 확장되었는데,[4] 거초 문화로 알려져 있다.[5][6] 역사에서 가우초는 용감하다는 평을 받았다. 제멋대로 굴면, 이 단어는 또한 "고블하고 용감하고 관대하다"[7]는 뜻뿐만 아니라 "미묘한 속임수에 능숙한 사람, 교활한 사람"[8]이라는 뜻에도 은유적으로 사용된다.
