듀크대 프레스(Duke University Press)는 듀크대 계열의 학술 출판사 겸 대학 언론이다.1921년[3] 윌리엄 T. 래프레이드에 의해 《트리니티 칼리지 프레스》(듀크 대학교는 처음에는 트리니티 칼리지라고 불렸다)로 설립되었다.1926년에 듀크 대학 출판부가 정식으로 설립되었다.Ernest Seeman became the first director of DUP, followed by Henry Dwyer (1929-1944), W.T. LaPrade (1944-1951), Ashbel Brice (1951-1981), Richard Rowson (1981-1990), Larry Malley (1990-1993), Stanley Fish and Steve Cohn (1994-1998), Steve Cohn (1998-2019).작가 딘 스미스는 현재 언론 담당 이사다.[4]

역사
이 신문은 윌리엄 T. 래프레이드를 초대 이사로 하여 1921년 트리니티 칼리지 프레스(Trinity College Press)로 설립되었다.구조조정과 확장에 이어 1926년 윌리엄 K와 함께 '듀크 대학 출판사'로 명칭이 바뀌었다.보이드가 감독을 맡았다.[7]
아트뉴스는 듀크대 출판사를 2021년 디시더즈 리스트에 선정해 "많은 대학 언론들이 예술에 관한 가치 있는 책을 출판하지만, 듀크대 출판사처럼 이 주제에 관여하는 책은 없고, 그 모든 의미가 담겨 있지 않다"고 말했다.[8]
듀크대 출판사는 2021년 2월 비영리 학술지 출판사 및 협회와의 제휴로 구독 관리, 이행, 호스팅, 기관 마케팅 및 판매 등 저널 서비스를 제공하는 Scholy Publishing Collective의 구성을 발표했다.[9]
오픈 액세스
듀크는 오픈 액세스 도서를 후원하는 글로벌 도서관 컨소시엄인 지식 언래치 파일럿에 참여하는 13개 출판사 중 한 명이다.[10]듀크는 파일럿 컬렉션에 책을 제공했다.[11]언론은 또한 '열린 모노그래프 생태계를 향해'를 포함한 다른 개방형 접속 프로그램을 통해 거의 100권의 책을 추가로 출간했다.
