단존은 달 저편에 있는 달 충돌 분화구다.그것은 더 큰 분화구 란제막의 동남동쪽에는 분화구 직경도 안 된다.단전의 북동쪽에는 분화구 페레펠킨이 있고, 남쪽에는 성벽이 있는 평야 페르미가 있다.

단존의 북동쪽 테두리에는 더 작은 분화구 다르손발이 겹쳐져 있다.Danjon은 약간 작은 위성 분화구 Danjon X의 남동쪽 모퉁이에 있다.이 분화구의 바깥 테두리는 특히 남쪽 끝부분이 닳고 침식되어 있으며, 내부 바닥은 불규칙하고 여러 개의 작은 분화구로 표시되어 있다.
