Wenatchee child abuse prosecutions

1994년과 1995년 미국 워싱턴주 웨나치에서 벌어진 웨나치 아동학대 사건은 1980년대와 1990년대 초 아동 성추행으로 인한 히스테리 당시 마지막 '대규모 멀티빅터/멀티오프렌더 사건'[1]이었다.[2][3]많은 가난하고 지적 장애가 있는 피의자들은 유죄를 인정했고, 개인 변호사를 고용한 사람들은 무죄 판결을 받았다.[4][5][6]결국 이들 사건에서 피소된 사람들은 모두 풀려났고,[7] 당국은 당초 피소된 사람들 중 일부에게 손해배상을 청구했다.[8][9]

비난

체포

시련

검찰은 로버슨 일가에 대한 혐의를 뒷받침할 어떠한 물적 증거도 제공할 수 없었다.[32]주요 증인은 페레스의 양녀였고, 페레즈는 사건의 조사관이었다.[4]로버슨의 5살짜리 딸은 자신의 부모가 자신을 학대하지 않았다고 증언했고,[27] 그래서 T. 유죄판결 검토 요약

과실성

여파

법원은 한때 이들 기소에 수감되었던 사람들을 모두 석방했다.캐롤과 마크 도겟(누구의 딸이 아이다호의 정신병원에 끌려가 그들에게 기억을 되찾았다가 [29][63]학대를[64] 당한 사실을 부인한 채 도망쳤다)은 풀려났지만,[65][66] 그 후 자녀들을 다시 양육권으로 돌려보내기 위해서는 여전히 법적 지원이 필요했다.[7]

고소인의 '고발적 히스테리'로 재판이 연기된 케리 앤 노울스 힐은 소송을 취하하는 대신 자신의 사건에 대해 공개적으로 말할 권리를 포기했다.[63][79]세이디 휴즈(가명)'아이큐가 낮다'[77] '발달장애인으로 자신을 표현한 '사디 노울스'는 "이해할 수 없는 것에 대해 유죄를 인정했다"고 밝혀 성범죄자로 계속 등록해야 한다.[80]
