Collabora는 LibreOffice의 모기업인 The Document Foundation(TDF)의 상업 파트너로, TDF는 LibreOffice 소프트웨어 개발의 대부분이 Collabora, Red Hat, CIB, Hote Rodropia에 의해 이루어진다고 명시하고 있다.[7]

특징들

플러그인이나 추가 기능이 없는 최신 웹 브라우저라면 Collabora Online에 접속하여 실시간으로 텍스트 문서, 스프레드시트, 프리젠테이션 및 벡터 그래픽을 편집하거나 공동 편집할 수 있다.[8]

협업 기능에는 다른 사용자가 응답할 수 있는 코멘트와 문서 비교가 가능한 문서 버전 히스토리가 포함된다.[9]고급 협업 기능에는 협업으로 문서를 편집하면서 화상통화나 채팅 등이 포함되는데, 이는 콜라보라 온라인이 넥스트클라우드, 자체클라우드, Seafile, EGroupware와 같은 기업 파일 동기화 및 공유 클라우드 솔루션과 통합되기 때문에 가능하다.[10]

데스크톱, 크롬북, 노트북, 태블릿 및 스마트폰용 애플리케이션

클라이언트 앱은 현대적인 웹 브라우저만 필요한 Collabora Online에 접속할 필요는 없지만, 대부분의 기기에 기본 소프트웨어 앱을 로컬로 설치할 수 있다.[11]

파일 형식

Collabora Online은 Office 애플리케이션을 위한 Open Document Format for Office Applications(ODF - odt, ods, ods, ods, ods, odg), Office Open XML 형식(docx, pptxxx)과 기존 Microsoft Office 형식(doc, ppt, xls)을 지원한다.지원되는 다른 형식으로는 pdf, csv, rtf, epub 등이 있다.[17][18]Visio, Publisher, Keynote, Numbers, Page 및 기타 파일 형식을 가져올 수 있다.[19]

서버

Collabora Online은 워드 프로세싱 문서, 스프레드시트, 프리젠테이션 및 벡터 그래픽의 공동 실시간 편집을 허용한다.[8]서버는 로컬 또는 제공자와 함께 호스팅할 수 있으며, 프라이빗 호스팅 클라우드 서비스는 데이터를 각 사용자의 관리 하에 유지할 수 있도록 하며, Collabora Productivity는 Debian, Ubuntu CentOS, openSUSE, Univentional Virtual Machines 및 Docker 이미지를 위한 Collabora Online 서버 인스턴스를 지원한다.[22][23]흔히 Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft 365와 기능적으로 유사한 넥스트 클라우드, 자체 클라우드, Seafile, EGroupware와 같은 파일 공유 및 협업 클라우드 플랫폼과 통합되는데, 여기에는 일반적으로 이메일, 연락처, 캘린더, 파일 동기화 및 공유, 전화, 채팅, 비디오 등이 포함된다.넥스트클라우드가 내장한 화상회의 툴 넥스트클라우드톡과 같이 채팅방이나 화상통화에서 문서를 편집할 수 있는 등의 긴밀한 통합이 가능하다.Collabora Online 서버는 앞서 언급한 Moodle, Alfresco, Kolab, Mattermost, Sharepoint 등 여러 클라우드 솔루션과 동시에 통합할 수 있다.[24]

서버는 패키지 또는 개발 중에 도커 이미지에서 간단하게 설치할 수 있다.Docker 웹사이트는 Collabora Online Development Edition(CODE) Docker 이미지가 5,000만 번 다운로드되었다고 표시한다.[25]API 사양 및 통합 지침이 포함된 소프트웨어 개발 키트(SDK)와 여러 소프트웨어 언어로 된 샘플 통합 코드 스니펫이 함께 제공된다.[26]

협업 기능에는 다른 사용자가 응답할 수 있는 주석, 문서 비교를 가능하게 하는 문서 버전 기록 및 복원 기능 등이 포함된다.[27]

캐논컬, 콜라보라, 넥스트클라우드가 콜라보라 온라인 오피스 제품군을 포함한 원격 업무 솔루션을 이용할 수 있게 해 넥스트클라우드 우분투 어플라이언스로 불리며 인텔 NUCs나 ARM 기반 라즈베리파이 4s에 설치하면 사전 구성돼 자동으로 업데이트된다.[28][29]

디지털 주권

Collabora Online이 다른 오피스 클라우드 제품군에 비해 주목할 만한 능력은 완전하게 감사 가능하고, 파일 편집을 위해 제3자 제공업체의 계정에 의존할 필요가 없는 경우 자체 호스팅 솔루션을 구현할 수 있다는 점이다.[30]2020년 7월 유럽의회는 '유럽을 위한 디지털 주권'이라는 제목의 브리핑을 발간해 시민과 기업, 유럽연합(EU) 회원국들이 자신들의 데이터에 대한 통제력을 상실하고 있다는 우려를 상세히 소개하면서 구글·애플·페이스북·아마존·마이크로소프트가 사용하는 경제모델은 주로 수집과 e를 기반으로 하고 있다고 설명했다.온라인 사용자 데이터의 xploation.[31]"Schrems II"와 같은 판단은 민감한 개인 데이터를 처리하고 저장할 때 대형 클라우드 제공업체의 솔루션에 의존하는 것이 섬세하다는 것을 보여준다.[32]디지털 주권은 2001년 10월 제정된 애국법, 2018년 3월 제정된 미국 클라우드법, 2018년 5월 EU의 GDPR(General Data Protection Regulations)간 법적 프라이버시 갈등이 지속되고 있는 등 여러 가지 이유로 EU에서 우려되고 있다.[33]

프랑스 내무부 IT 인프라 국장은 프랑스 내무부에 넥스트클라우드 기반 프라이빗 클라우드를 구축하는 이유로 시민과 직원의 데이터 안전성을 꼽았다.네덜란드 교육부, 독일 연방정부, 스웨덴 연방정부 기관은 비슷한 이유로 넥스트클라우드 기반의 프라이빗 클라우드를 구축하고 경쟁을 강화하고 있다.[34]

기술

Collabora Online의 핵심은 LibreOffice의 핵심과 마찬가지로 C++로 표기되어 있다.기존 LibreOffice 코드 대부분을 재사용하고 문서를 저장, 로딩 및 렌더링할 수 있는 프로그래밍 인터페이스인 LibreOfficeKit를 사용한다.Collabora Online의 기본 원칙은 문서가 서버를 떠나지 않는다는 것이다.문서를 작업하는 당사자들은 타일로 렌더링된 문서의 이미지를 보고 변경사항을 서버로 다시 전송한다.Collabora Online의 가시적인 사용자 인터페이스는 자바스크립트로 쓰여 있다.Collabora Online은 파일 호스팅 서비스를 통한 파일 액세스 및 인증을 위해 마이크로소프트가 개발한 WOPI 프로토콜을 사용한다.이것은 Collabora Online이 이론적으로 Microsoft 365 통합을 허용하는 어떤 예에서도 사용될 수 있다는 것을 의미한다.[35]

역사

SUSE의 LibreOffice 개발팀은 2013년 9월 Collabora Productivity라는 자회사를 결성하여 Collabora에 입사했다.[40]2015년 Collabora and IceWarp은 구글 독스 및 오피스 365(현재의 마이크로소프트 365로 불림)와 경쟁하기 위한 기업용 버전 LibreOffice Online의 개발을 발표했다.[41][42]2015년 12월, 자사 클라우드와의 제휴 및 CODE(Collabora Online Development Edition) 발매가 조인업을 통해 발표되었다.[43]넥스트클라우드는 2016년 11월 CODE의 v2.0과의 작업 및 통합, Collabora Online을 통해 성능, 확장성, 보안 및 기능 향상을 위한 향후 작업 계획을 발표했다.[44]2020년 10월 Collabora는 The Document Foundation 인프라에서 GitHub로 Collabora Online에 대한 작업 이동을 발표했다.[45][46]Collabora Online의 개발 버전은 Collabora Online Development Edition(CODE)이라고 불린다.[47]
