춘렁서우
Choon-Leong SeowChoon-Leong Seow (Chinese: 蕭俊良; pinyin: Xiāo Jùnliáng; born August 4, 1952), known as C. L. Seow, is a distinguished biblical scholar, semitist, epigrapher, and historian of Near Eastern religion, currently as Vanderbilt, Buffington, Cupples Chair in Divinity and Distinguished Professor of Hebrew Bible at Vanderbilt University.[1] 지혜 문학의 전문가인 서우는 성서학 분야에서 널리 저술했다.[2]
교육
싱가포르에서 태어나고 자란 서우는 페퍼다인 대학교에서 예술 학사, 프린스턴 신학교에서 신학 석사, 하버드 대학교에서 근동국어와 문명 철학 박사 등을 맡고 있다.[3] 그의 선생님들은 패트릭 D를 포함한다. 밀러, 지미 잭 맥비 로버츠, 토마스 오든 램딘, 그리고 그의 논문은 프랭크 무어 크로스였다.
경력
서우는 1983년 프린스턴 신학교에서 교편을 잡기 시작해 1990년 부교수의 직급을 획득했고 1995년 새로 설립된 헨리 스나이더 게만 체어를 점거했다. 그로부터 20년 뒤인 2015년 밴더빌트대, 버핑턴대, 쿠플스 신학 석좌, 히브리 성서 저명한 교수로 전학했다. 이밖에도 서우는 프린스턴대, 미국 유대신학대학원, 하버드대, 홍콩 싱가포르 말레이시아 남아프리카공화국의 기관 등에서 강의했다.[4]
서우는 지혜문학, 고대 이스라엘 종교의 역사, 노스웨스트 셈어학, 히브리 시, 성경의 신학적 해석 등 성경의 연구와 관련된 광범위한 주제에 대해 저술해 왔다. 서우의 최근 작품 대부분은 성경이 역사를 통해 어떻게 해석되어 왔는지, 그리고 그 해석의 영향을 고찰하는 '결과의 역사'에 초점을 맞추고 있다.[5]
지금까지, 서우는 잡, 다니엘, I-II 킹스, 그리고 에클레시아스티스에 대한 논평들을 포함하여 7권의 책 장편 작품을 출판했다. 그는 또한 40편이 넘는 학술 논문과 수필을 출판했다. 히브리어 성경/구약성서 백과사전 편집자(de Gruyter, de Gruyter)와 일루미네이션스 해설 시리즈 총편집자(Eerdmans)를 맡고 있다.[6] He has served on the editorial boards of numerous publications, including the Beihefte zur Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft series (de Gruyter), Maarav, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Journal of Biblical Literature, the Writings from the Ancient World series (SBL Press), and the Abingdon Old Testament Commentary Series.[7]
