트래비스 트래벌 킹(Travis Travale King, 2000년 2월 15일 ~ )은 2023년 7월 18일 한국 비무장지대(DMZ) 민간인 관광 중 공동경비구역(JSA) 내 군사분계선을 넘어 북한으로 들어간 미 육군 군인입니다.[1][2] 킹은 남한에서 법적 혐의로 불명예 제대를 앞두고 있었습니다.한국, 횡단 당시 그가 주둔하고 있던 나라.[3][4]

북한의 시간

2023년 7월 24일, 유엔군 사령부는 북한 정부와 킹과 관련된 연락을 하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.[26][27][28]

8월 1일,[6][7][29] 북한 정부는 유엔군 사령부의 킹 관련 정보 요청을 인정하고 사건을 조사 중이라고 밝혔으나, 당시 북한 내 킹 관련 정보는 자세히 제공하지 않았습니다.

2023년 8월 4일, 미국은 민간인 복장을 한 채 자유의사로 북한에 넘어온 킹을 전쟁포로로 분류하는 것을 거부했습니다.[30]

8월 15일, 북한의 주요 매체인 조선중앙통신(KCNA)은 킹이 "미군 내의 비인간적 학대와 인종 차별" 때문에 불법적으로 국내로 건너갔다고 진술하면서 킹이 국내에 있음을 확인했습니다.조선중앙통신은 킹 목사가 "불평등한 미국 사회에 환멸을 느꼈다며 북한이나 제3국으로 피신할 의향을 표명했다"고 덧붙였습니다.[31]
