2016년 미주리주 검찰총장 선거는 2016년 미국 대통령 선거와 동시에 미주리주 검찰총장을 선출하기 위해 2016년 11월 8일 치러졌다.공화당의 조시 홀리는 민주당 후보인 테레사 헨슬리를 물리쳤다.
현직 민주당 법무장관인 크리스 코스터는 3선에 출마하지 않고 민주당 주지사로 [1][2][3]지명됐다.

미주리주 검찰총장 후보 커트 쉐퍼의 직무 남용 의혹이 수면 위로 떠올랐다.섀퍼는 팀 울프 전 미주리 대학 시스템 총장에게 조쉬 홀리의 법무장관 출마를 방해하도록 압력을 행사한 것으로 알려졌다.Hawley는 미주리 대학의 교수였다.울프는 1월 19일 이메일로 다음과 같이 썼다: "셰퍼는 공직에 출마할 때 무급 휴직을 요청할 수 있는 직원의 권리를 빼앗음으로써 조쉬 홀리의 법무장관 출마권을 박탈하도록 나와 여러 번 회의를 했다."이메일은 이어 "셰퍼가 [31]요청한 대로 하지 않을 경우 정치적 후폭풍으로 인한 대학 예산 삭감에 영향을 미칠까 걱정된다"고 전했다.
