V4199 Sagittarii는 Sagittarius의 남쪽 별자리에 있는 변수별이다.[8]1.23825일이라는 기간에 걸쳐 6.22~6.28일 정도 차이가 나는 겉보기 시각적 규모로 육안에만 보이는 희미한 별이다.[9]이 별은 시차(parallax)를 기준으로 태양으로부터 약 689광년 떨어진 거리에 위치하지만, 대략 -23 km/s의 방사형 속도로 더 가까이 표류하고 있다.[6]평균적으로 절대규모는 -0.63이다.[3]

이 별의 별 분류는 B5이다.III,[4] B형 거성별과 일치한다.밝은 별 목록에는 B5V 등급의 주계열성으로 나열되었지만, 색상은 다소 더 진화된 별을 암시한다.[10]이 별의 광도 변동성은 C에 의해 발표되었다. 와일켄스와 F. 1985년 [11]루페네르1일 0.80780±0.00010 사이클의 우세한 주파수를 가진 다주기성[10] B 별이다.[12]이 별은 태양의 4배, 태양의 반경 3배의 질량을 가지고 있다.유효온도 14,700K로 광권으로부터 태양의 316배 정도의 광도를 방사하고 있다.-104±32G의 강도로 이 별에서 자기장이 검출되었다.[5]

2003년 현재 위치각 310°를 따라 90.9˚의 각이 분리되어 있는 진도 9.96의 동반성을 가지고 있다.[13]
