Roseobacter litoralis는 호기성 핑크 색소 [1]박테리아의 한 종류이다.그것은 박테리오클로로필 a를 함유하고 있다.스피로데논을 함유하여 혐기적으로 박테리오클로로필을 합성하지 않지만, 호기성 광영양 활성을 나타낸다.그것은 또한 광합성 해양 박테리아로 여겨진다.[2] 세포는 난형 또는 막대 모양이며 아한대 편모에 의해 움직인다.R. litoralis는 질산염을 감소시키지 않지만 R. dentripicans는 감소시킨다.해조류에서 볼 수 있다.
