로버트 그리피스(Robert Griffiths, 1952년 4월 21일 출생)는 웨일스 공산주의자 활동가로 현재 영국공산당 총서기다.그는 1998년 1월 마이크 힉스 대신 당 집행위원회에 의해 선출되었다.[2]

초년기

그리피스는 카디프에서 태어나 랭럼니 교외에서 자랐다. 그곳에서 브린 하포드 초등학교를 다녔다.이후 카디프 고등학교를 다녔고,[3] 이후 배스 대학교에 진학해 경제학을 공부했다.그는 대학에 다니는 동안 복싱 토너먼트에 참가했다.[4]

경력

2016년 영국의 유럽연합 탈퇴 운동인 Left Leak 의장으로 그리피스(Griffiths)가 공개됐다.이 단체는 영국공산당, 철도, 해운노동자연맹, 존경당 등 정당과 단체가 연합한 단체다.

1994년 선거에서 그는 사우스 웨일스 중앙의 1인 선거구에서 공산당을 대표하여 전체의 0.6%인 1073표를 얻어 당선되었다.이후 2009년과 2014년 선거에서 그는 웨일스 다인 선거구에서 유럽연합(EU) 선거 리스트의 일원으로 서 있었다.[22][23]
