Alopecurus aequalis는 짧은 새벽 폭스테일 또는 오렌지 [3]폭스테일로 알려진 일반적인 풀 종이다.유라시아에서 북아메리카에 이르는 온대 북반구의 대부분 지역에서 자생한다.그것은 연못과 [4]도랑 가장자리와 같은 민물 근처 지역에서 가장 흔하게 발견된다.
묘사
이 여러해살이풀은 겉모습이 다양합니다.높이 [5]20cm에서 약 70cm의 직립줄기 다발을 생산한다.잎의 길이는 2~15cm이고, 밑부분 잎이 가장 길고 줄기 잎은 긴 [5]피복형이다.원통형 꽃차례는 길이가 몇 센티미터이고 흰색에서 노란색에서 밝은 오렌지색 꽃차례로 약 0.5에서 0.8mm [6]정도 꽃을 피운다.

생태학
A. aequalis는 C3 대사를 가지고 있으며, 태양에서 부분 태양까지 가장 잘 자라며,[8] 성장기 동안 2개월 동안 얕은 고인 물을 견딜 수 있습니다.
이 종의 한 종류인 var. sonomensis는 연방정부에서 미국의 [9]멸종위기종으로 등재된 희귀한 캘리포니아 풍토초이다.
