낸시 만
Nancy Mann낸시 로빈스 만(Nancy Robins Mann)은 품질 관리, 신뢰성 평가, Weibull 분포에 대한 연구로 유명한 미국의 통계학자다.[1][2]
교육과 경력
맨은 1943년 오하이오주의 칠리코더 고등학교를 졸업했다.[3]1948년과 1949년 미국 로스앤젤레스 캘리포니아대(UCLA)에서 수학 학사 및 석사 학위를 취득한 [4]데 이어 국립표준국 국립응용수학연구소에서 컴퓨팅 스태프로 일했다.[5]
그녀는 UCLA로 돌아왔고 1965년에 그곳에서 생물통계학 박사과정을 마쳤다.[4][6]그녀의 박사학위 논문은 고장 시간에 2-모수 Weibull 분포가 있을 때의 신뢰도 모수에 대한 점 및 구간 추정치였다.
그녀는 나중에 Rocketdyne에서 일했고,[4][1] 그녀의 조직인 Quality Education Semina를 통해 품질관리에 대한 세미나를 진행했다.[6]

Ray E. Schafer와 Nozer D와 함께.Singpurwalla, Mann은 신뢰성 및 생명 데이터의 통계적 분석을 위한 방법(Methods for Statistical Analysis of Relability and Life Data)이라는 책을 썼다. (Wiley, 1974년).[7]그녀는 또한 W. Edwards Deming, The Keys to the Excellence: 데밍 철학 이야기 (Prestwick Books, 1985년, The Keys to Excellence: 품질경영의 저하철학, 관리책, 2000).[8]
인식
만은 1970년 미국통계협회 회원으로 선출되었다. "특히 Weibull과 극단적 가치 분포에 대한 점 및 구간 추정 이론의 연구와 기술측정학 부편집자로서의 직업에 대한 그녀의 공헌"을 위해서였다.[1]
그녀는 2003년 칠리코더 고등학교 명예의 전당에 입회하기 위해 선발되었다.[3]
