밀롬스쿨(Millom School)은 영국 컴브리아 주의 밀롬(Millom)에 위치한 남녀공학 중등학교로 6번째 형태다.[3]

오늘 학교

컴브리아 카운티 협의회가 관리하는 종합 커뮤니티 스쿨이다.2005년 개관한 올웨더 스포츠 피치(4G가 아닌)와 '멜빈 브래그 드라마 스튜디오'가 있다.[4]

밀롬 스쿨은 학생들을 위한 공부 프로그램으로 GCSE와 BTEC를 제공하고, 6번째 형태의 학생들은 다양한 A-레벨과 더 많은 BTEC에서 공부할 수 있는 선택권을 가지고 있다.[5]

이 학교 유역 지역은 "주로 광공업의 소멸로 인한 사회·경제적 문제가 심각하다"[6]고 했다.

학업성취도 및 학교점검

2001년 이 학교는 전국과학도전상을 수상했고, 2002년 이 학교의 교사는 BP상 과학의 해 상을 받았다.[6][7]

2014년, 학교는 Ofsted에 의해 검사되었고 Good로 판정되었다.[8]2018년 다시 점검해 '개선이 필요하다'고 판단했는데, 2020년 기준으로 가장 최근 점검이다.[9]

역사

이 학교는 1905년에 정식으로 중등학교가 된 학생-교사 센터에 뿌리를 두고 있다.[12]따라서 그 학교는 2005년에 100주년을 기념했다.[1]1938년에 재건되었고, 그 때 문법 학교 제공이 추가되었다.이 당시 학교는 밀롬카운티 중등학교로 알려져 있었으며, 공동교육 문법학교였다.[12]1950년, 교장은 특히 몇몇 아이들이 학교에 가는 긴 여정 때문에 "공부를 경멸하는 지역적 경향과 그에 따른 학교 교장의 어려움"에 주목했다.[12]

'Ulpha Building'은 'Millom Network Centre'로 확장되었고, 이후 이름을 Millom Hub로 변경하여 외부 기관에 공간을 제공하였다.데본셔 로드 산업단지에 있는 밀롬 워크 앤 스킬 센터로 이전되었다.2019년에 지방 당국이 네트워크 센터에 대한 책임을 떠맡았고, 그것의 미래에 대한 우려가 있었다.[16][17]
