맥닐은 2011년 헤브리데인 뮤지션 윌리 캠벨과 손잡고 음악앨범 케빈 맥닐과 윌리 캠벨은 우주에서 볼 수 있는 음악앨범(An Lanntair(An Lanntair)을 발매했다.[15]

강의 및 펠로우십

맥닐은 스웨덴(웁살라 대학), 바바리아(빌라 콩코르디아), 셰틀랜드, 에든버러 대학, 킹스턴에서[disambiguation needed] 교직과 집필 유예를 맡았다. 그는 Hawthornden 펠로우십을 개최했으며 Iain Crichton Smith 2개 국어 쓰기 펠로우십의 초대 수상자였다. 그는 하이랜드 북상, 위그타운 시상, 스코틀랜드 북 트러스트 신인 작가상 심사위원을 맡아왔다.[16] 그는 모닉 모르 작가 센터의 원격 멘토 겸 현장 거주 단기 과정 과외교사로 스털링 대학 창작 글쓰기 강사로 활동 중이다.[17]
