HD 76700은 볼란스의 남쪽 별자리에 있는 별이다. 빛깔이 노랗고 육안으로는 보이지 않을 정도로 희미하며, 겉보기에는 8.16의 시각적 크기를 가지고 있다.[2] 이 물체는 항성 시차를 기준으로 태양으로부터 199광년 거리에 위치한다.[1] 방사상 속도 +39 km/s로 더 멀리 떠내려가고 있다.[2]
특성.
이 물체는 G6V의 항성분류를 가진 G형 주계열성으로,[3] 코어 수소융합을 통해 에너지를 발생시키고 있음을 나타낸다. 이것은 금속이 풍부한 항성으로 태양보다 훨씬 높은 금속성을 보여준다.[6] 이것은 항성 대기에 내화성이 풍부한 행성체를 미리 첨가함으로써 설명될 수 있다.[7] HD 76700의 질량은 우리 태양의 (1.1배)와 매우 유사하지만, 시원하고 밝으며 (유효온도 5,694K, 광도 1.69S) 따라서 훨씬 오래된 (약 69억년) 것이다.[4]
행성
HD 76700은 방사형 속도법을 통해 2003년에 발견된 거대한 행성에 의해 궤도를 선회한다.[6] HD 76700 b로 지정된 이 행성은 항성과 매우 가까운 궤도를 돌고 있으며 단 4일의 기간을 가지고 있다.[8]
