HD 187923은 아퀼라 적도 별자리에 있는 것으로 추정되는 변광성이다[5].그것은 육안으로 보기만 해도 잘 보이지 않는 희미한 별이며, 겉보기에는 6.148의 시각적 크기를 가지고 있다.[2]연간 시차 전환 37.04 mas를 기준으로 88광년 떨어진 곳에 위치해 있다.[1]이 별은 -20.7 km/s의 태양 중심 방사상 속도로 지구 가까이 이동하고 있다.[2]연간 0.480㎝의 속도로 천체를 가로지르는 비교적 높은 적정 운동을 하고 있다.[9]
이것은 G0 V의 별 분류를 가진 보통의 G형 주계열성이다.[3]태양과 일부 유사성이 있어 태양 아날로그로 간주된다.[10]Brewer 외 연구진(2016)은 이 별의 질량이 태양의 1.3배, 태양의 반지름의 1.44배라고 추정한다.약 90억년 된 것으로 생각되며 0.1km/s의 예상 회전 속도로 천천히 돌고 있다.이 별은 5,774 K의 유효 온도에서 태양의 광도보다 두 배의 광도를 발산하고 있다.[6]카사그랑드 외 연구진(2011년)은 약 102억 살의 나이로 태양 질량의 1.02배라는 훨씬 낮은 질량 추정치를 제시했다.[7]
