Gwent Archives
그웬트 아카이브(Welsh: Archifau Gwent)는 몬머스셔 주의 역사적인 카운티인 사우스 웨일즈 에베베일에 근거지를 둔 지역 기록 사무소 및 족보 센터다.블라나우 그웬트, 케르필리 카운티 자치구, 몬머스셔, 뉴포트, 토르파엔의 현대 지방 자치구 지역을 망라하고 있다.[1]
배경
몬머스셔 레코드 사무소는 1938년 뉴포트의 샤이어 홀에 설립되었다.1974년 지방정부 개편에 이어 그웬트 카운티 레코드 사무소가 되어 Cwmbran에 새로 지어진 카운티 홀로 이전했다.[1]2011년 10월, 레코드 사무소는 Cwmbran에서 Evw Vale에 새로 개발된 부지로 이전하여 Gwent 아카이브로 개칭되었다.[2]
위치
그웬트 문서보관소는 Evw Vale 제철소의 2급 사무소 건물에 들어 있다.높은 시계탑이 있는 붉은 벽돌 건물은 1915/6년 에베베발레철강회사를 위해 지어졌다.[3]2009년 건축가 Stride Treglown에게 건축물을 Gwent Record Office의 본사로 개조하는 계획이 승인되었고, 새로운 증축, 전시, 교육 시설을 갖추고 있다.[4][5]그 건물은 특별히 웨일스의 전국 시인 길리언 클라크가 쓴 이중언어 시로 마무리되었는데, 이 시는 새로운 증축의 전면 부분에 부분적으로 재현되어 있다.[6]
홀딩스
그웬트 문서보관소에는 10km(6마일)의 선반을 갖춘 2개의 주요 강실이 있으며,[7] 12세기까지 거슬러 올라가는 기록들이 있다.[8]새로운 날개는 이중 지붕을 가지고 있어 안정적인 온도와 환경을 유지하는데 도움이 된다.[9]지역 내 산업의 역사를 보존하는 자발적인 단체인 [10]'에베베발레 제철소 아카이브 트러스트'도 기록관에 기반을 두고 있다.[9]
