《화학 교육》('EiC'라는 브랜드로 자주 언급됨)은 화학 교육의 모든 분야를 다루는 인쇄 및 온라인 잡지로,[1] 주로 중등 학교와 대학에서 화학을 가르치는 데 주력하고 있다.[2] 왕립화학회에서 발행하는 것으로,[3] 같은 주제에 대해 동료 평가 학술지인 화학 교육 연구 및 실습도 발간하고 있다.[1]

역사

'영국 화학 교육 저널'의 실현 가능성은 1962년 말 왕립 화학 학회에서 처음 논의되었다(유사한 저널인 화학 교육 저널은 1924년부터 미국에 존재해왔다). 론칭은 로널드 S교수의 로비에 의해 확보되었다. 편집국 초대 의장이 된 니홀름. 이 잡지는 1963년 닥터 F. W. 깁스(Dr. F. W. Gibbs)의 편집장으로 출범했으며 1964년 1월 첫호를 발간했다.[4] 기브스의 첫 사설인 '과학자와 교사'는 "이 저널은 모든 수준에서 화학의 가르침과 학습을 향상시키겠다는 공언된 목표를 가지고 출범했다"[5]는 출판의 목적을 밝혔다. 그 학술지는 처음에 분기별로 발간되었다.

케미스트리 교육은 2013년[6] 창립 50주년을 맞아 전현직 직원, 기고자, 편집위원, 빌 브라이슨 등 일부 특별 게스트가 참석한 행사로 진행됐다.

현재 출판물

편집자는 폴 매클렐런이다.[7] 2018년 중반 단종된 모바일용 앱으로 출시됐다.[9] 그것은 또한 블로그와 때때로 온라인에 게재되는 추가 보완책도 제공했다.[10][11] 이 잡지는 격월간 인쇄물로 발행되며 블로그에 대한 이전의 혁신을 대체하는 "온라인 퍼스트" 출판 모델로 운영된다. 인쇄본은 영국과 아일랜드의 모든 중학교에 무료로 보내진다.
