'드림 글로우'는 한국 보이그룹 방탄소년단의 진, 지민, 정국과 영국 가수 찰리 XCX가 2019년 6월 7일 싱글로 발표한 곡이다.[2] 스타게이트가 프로듀싱한 곡으로, 지난 6월 26일 발매된 방탄소년단 월드 게임의 사운드 트랙에서 나온 첫 곡이다.[2]

배경

'드림 글로우'는 '글로우'라는 제목의 미공개 찰리 XCX 곡을 리작업한 것으로, 2016년 XCX의 미공개 3집 앨범 작사 세션에서 '글로우'가 작곡됐다.[1] XCX는 처음에 이 곡을 앨범에 포함시킬 계획이었지만, 결국 "원래 내 세계에는 결코 들어맞지 않는다"[3][4]는 그녀의 말처럼 하지 않기로 결정했다.

2017년 샤를리 XCX는 한국에서 BTS를 만나 페스티벌 공연을 했다. 그들은 미팅 중에 함께 노래를 만들기로 결정했다. XCX는 나중에 그들에게 잠재적으로 사용할 곡으로 "Glow" 버전을 보냈고, 이 곡은 결국 그들의 협업을 위한 곡으로 선택되었다. 이 그룹은 이 노래를 수정하고 한국어에 맞게 조정하기 위해 "잠시 함께 있다"고 말했다.[3][4]

찰리 XCX는 2018년 유출된 곡에 대해 "원래 클럽에 있는 누군가를 사랑하게 된다"고 밝혔다.[5][3]

이 곡은 넷마블 모바일 게임 방탄소년단 월드에 사운드 트랙의 '파트 원'으로 인정받고 있다.[6][2]

셸던 피어스 피치포크 감독은 "찰리가 정성스럽게 정돈된 싱크로율을 유지하기 위해 빈 공간을 채우는 등 진, 지민, 정국이 한 박자도 놓치지 말라"고 트랙을 긍정적으로 평가했다. 피어스는 또 네 명이 "아직 실현되지 않은 꿈의 잠재력에 대해 영어와 한국어로 모호하지만 확신 있게 노래한다"면서 "별은 있지만 공상적이지 않다", "거의 비관론자" 그리고 "진정한 EDM-lite"라고 말했다.[1]
